Pancreatico-duodenectomy in a blunt trauma abdomen: a rare case report

چکیده
Abdominal trauma, a very common occurrence, especially in country like India with an abundance of road traffic accidents. However, few such patients present pancreatic or duodenal injury. At times injury requires the complex and intricate procedure pancreatico-duodenectomy. Such highly trained surgeons as well extensive post operative monitoring. In scenario that these are available, this major surgery becomes lifesaving procedure. This case report describes one successful outcome. Early presentation to hospital, availability skilled good tertiary care set up have made once rarely performed called Whipple’s (pancreatico-duodenectomy) into live saving which can be used for abdominal trauma cases well.
